On this day, and every day, show African people much love; take in love. Consume and give only the love that shines through the windows of justice, reciprocity, truth, harmony, balance, righteousness, and order.

Give love to our ancestors this day and every day. Take the love they have to give. What love could have held you more tenderly or firmly than Baba John H. Clarke? Whose love could outshine Yaa Asantewa's? Didn't Araminta (Harriet Tubman) risk life and limb to reach you time and time and time again? Could you have more loving teachers than Baba Jake, Mama Septima or Ptah-Hotep?

Oppression got you down? Reach out for Marcus Garvey's whirlwind of love. He promised to fight for you 'til the end.  Ida B. Well’s holster will fit around your waist, put it on.

Feelin' lonely? It is a mere illusion and mind-trick of our oppressors. Truth is:  you are not alone, you have never been alone, and you shall never be alone. You are a cluster of millions who merged to become you and you extend yourself into the child. You are the past, present and future. (J. Ngubane)

Go outside; take in the sun. It is the same sun that shined upon Imhotep, Hatshepsut, Amenemope, Sunni “Aru” Ber, and it still shines upon you today. Take in the rays of love and wisdom from long ago. It is here for you today. Now that you're outside, look for our children and youth. Are they not in your neighborhood or vicinity? Move. Find them. Listen with love to their laughter, fears, their anger, and their tears.

Look and see --with African eyes-- the spirit that still shines through the culturally imposed European spirit. See it? Feel it? Use your old eyes, your African eyes to send them your love and your knowing that they will continue and rise victoriously.

Wrap yourself in the love of our Elders who have carried the burdens of oppression generation after generation. You've seen them before -
