Understanding the dynamics of domination/oppression- historically and currently, from overt brute force to “subtle” manipulation. Effective counters to l the various forms domination. A failure to understand the dynamics of domination yesterday and today lead to wasted efforts, ineffective family and organization building, misinterpretations of our people’s adaptive actions, escapist histography and ultimately self blaming as directed by the dominators. Sources: Baffour (Hilliard) Wilson, Ani, Clarke, & Madzimoyo)

Domination (First Thursdays and Sundays. )

Healing & Building #1 (2nd Thursdays and Sundays.)

Given the persistent oppression, Afrikan people - our people are wounded. The anchor tool for H&B#1 is The Flow of Recognition (formerly strokes)  Support healing and building pieces will vary in by month. We examine how oppressive attention has skewed how we recognize and communicate with self and others both verbally and non-verbally. Recognition and attention in a oppressive society serve it’s architects. Hence, personal, family, organizational and race conflicts abound. Alternative “recognition patterns” are designed to serve the interest of Afrikan people.

Healing & Building #2 (3rd Thursdays and Sundays.)

The anchor tool for H&B#2 is Feelings as Messengers : Re-introduction to Intelligence of the Heart. Europeans and emotional intelligence are like water and oil - they don’t mix. The emotional illiteracy they inject and promote is a major tool of white domination, manipulation, and oppression. The result: inauthentic communication w/ self and others, confusion, internal and external conflicts, unconscious support for the superior/inferior relationship schemes that erode trust among us, even when we’re most sincere. Awareness and use of our feelings and thinking together is the focus in the first month of an two month series. Learned survival “Substitution” feeling patterns are explored and altered in the second month. Support healing and building pieces will vary in by month.

Practice & Application (4th Thursdays and Sundays.)

Amos N. Wilson’s “Pathological Symptoms of Oppressed People” provides a foundation for us practicing using the tools to heal and build amid symptoms of our wounded that we experience in our families, business, organizations and communities. We want you to be skilled in the use of these tools.

How Tools Online  (H2O) is divided into 4 basic modules or segments. The modules (below) for that week will be presented twice- on Thursdays and Sunday. Each 2-hours training offers tools that can stand alone. To cover the material more  thoroughly, we’ve varied the material in the segment within a 2 month cycle. For example in the Domination segment for March, you’ll get Baffour and Amos, for April you get Mama Marimba and Baba Clarke. Either March or April’s segment will give you powerful HOW Tools; both segments combined will get closer to the HOW Weekend retreat coverage.
