Who should take the course? The Calculus 1, 2, & 3 series is great for high school level students attending private school, home school, or public school but unable to fit Calculus into their schedule. This series is also for post high school students who need a Calculus refresher course. It's also great for institutions who may not have enough calculus students to warrant hiring an on-site calculus teacher.

All students will:
Understand the meaning of Calculus and become skilled at applications. Connect Calculus to African Culture and African people (past / present / future)Learn to use Calculus in service of our people |
Introduction:Mathematics and science was created and evolved by the ancient peoples of what is now known as Africa. For thousands of years superior implementation of mathematics and technology has been the corner stone for many advanced African civilizations. The most popular display of superior mathematics, science, technology, and engineering occurs during the Kemite (Egyptian) high civilizations, the Songhoy/Songhai dynasties of Mali, and the introduction of the modern world by the Moors of the North Africa region. It is in the spirit of the evolutionary advancement of the sciences, technology, and engineering that the Calculus 1, 2, & 3 series is developed and taught. Calculus is the seminal material essential for the study and advancement of all sciences, engineering, and technology.
Purpose: The purpose of the Calculus 1, 2, & 3 series is to provide our students with the mathematical basis and language necessary for successful study and application in the sciences, engineering and technology. A further objective for this series is to prepare our students for the higher mathematics involved with the evolution and the advancement of the sciences, engineering, and technology. Science, engineering, technology, and manufacturing are essential for the advancement of a nation. Therefore, the students will entertain mathematical applications in the above disciplines.
Course Structure Each eight-week Calculus course will be an interactive lecture/discussion –type presentation. Students are encouraged to comment and ask questions to facilitate the evolutionary process of concept development. Topics will be taught along an evolutionary process from topic development to application. Inter-disciplinary perspectives will be studied to demonstrate the application of mathematical concepts in the sciences, engineering, technology, and manufacturing.
